Job description

We are a leading global alternative asset management firm with a strong presence in New York, known for investing across a diverse set of strategies including private equity, credit, real estate, and public markets. Our teams combine deep domain expertise with a highly collaborative approach to deliver impactful investment solutions. Technology plays a critical role in supporting front-office decision-making, and our engineering teams work closely with investment professionals to build scalable, data-driven platforms that power trading, analytics, and portfolio management. We foster an environment that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement, where individuals are empowered to make meaningful contributions from day one., Full-stack development role focused on building and supporting critical front-office applications used by investment teams.

Mix of new development + production support High emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail Strong interaction with business users, including traders and investment professionals

Responsibilities

Design and build end-to-end solutions (front-end, back-end, deployment) Enhance analytics and reporting platforms for loan-based assets Develop and support internal and external reporting systems Collaborate closely with business users to automate workflows Optimize data pipelines and API integrations Manage production releases and provide ongoing support Support risk reporting and trading desk workflows

Technical Stack

.NET / C# (core backend) Angular (preferred frontend leaning) Python (for data-intensive workflows) SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning Azure, Docker, CI/CD, Git, Video interview with hiring manager Two technical interviews with the team Final onsite interview

Key Takeaways

Highly technical, high-impact front-office role Strong comp upside into high $300Ks for the right candidate Best fit: hands-on engineers from lean, fast-moving financial environments Not a management-track role - focused on deep engineering excellence

Requirements

~7-12 years of experience (flexible for strong candidates with 5+ years) Strong full-stack development experience Experience in financial services (hedge fund, private equity, or banking) Exposure to fixed income / structured credit highly preferred Experience working with front-office or trading teams

Preferred Domain Experience

Fixed income, structured credit, or loan-based asset classes Familiarity with tools/datasets such as Bloomberg, Intex, CoreLogic, etc. Understanding of RMBS, CMBS, ABS, or similar products

Benefits & conditions

Front-office impact: Work directly alongside investment professionals, building tools that influence real-time trading and investment decisions High-caliber team: Join a tight-knit, high-performing engineering group that values collaboration, humility, and technical excellence Meaningful work: Blend of greenfield development and complex problem-solving in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment Career growth: Opportunity to deepen technical expertise and gain exposure to sophisticated financial products (with growth focused on skill development rather than traditional management tracks)

Strong culture: Down-to-earth, team-oriented environment with a focus on hiring thoughtful, driven individuals Work-life balance: Competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a sustainable pace compared to many front-office roles, Awesome team, high-impact role, and strong compensation structure. Total comp can go up to ~$370,000 (~$200K base / $170K bonus) for an ideal candidate with ~10-12 years of experience.

This is a highly specialized role, not a run-of-the-mill .NET position. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a smaller hedge fund or similar front-office financial services environment. Candidates from large investment banks can work, but profiles with hands-on ownership and less rigid hierarchy tend to align best.

Team & Environment

Front-office role sitting between investments and technology High-performing team of 6 (plus offshore support) Growth hire due to team expansion Strong culture: collaborative, down-to-earth, high-caliber individuals Emphasis on curiosity, humility, and ownership Excellent work-life balance and benefits Career growth is primarily horizontal (technical depth) rather than management track

This is a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, but the work is engaging and impactful.
