| Mid-Senior Level | Active Secret Clearance Required | $75,000 - $95,000 | Travel: As Required | Onsite: Huntsville, AL |
Support mission-critical missile defense capabilities-developing automated test and verification software solutions that validate Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System requirements in support of the Missile Defense Agency’s national defense mission.
A Day in the Life - What you’ll do
Develop software products supporting Automated Test and Verification (ATV) activities for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System.
Design, develop, integrate, and maintain software solutions that automate system-level requirement verification efforts.
Support the development of automation frameworks and tools that improve testing efficiency, quality, and mission assurance.
Participate in Agile software development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, development, testing, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, product teams, and government stakeholders to develop and deliver technical solutions.
Support all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
Work with requirements management processes to ensure traceability, compliance, and successful verification of system capabilities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting software development, testing, and verification activities.
Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional engineering efforts.
Support continuous process improvement initiatives focused on software quality, automation, and operational effectiveness.
Contribute to mission-critical missile defense programs operating in fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering environments.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Requirements management?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline from an accredited institution
Level 2: 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or PhD with 1 year of experience
Level 3: 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience
Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Experience supporting one or more phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including software requirements, design, development, integration, testing, or deployment
Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Fisheye/Crucible
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and within collaborative engineering teams
Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, AL, Experience with requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability
Experience supporting formal requirement verification and validation activities through testing methodologies
Knowledge of Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs
Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and the Systems Engineering V-Model
Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
Experience developing technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional product teams
Experience developing software solutions supporting automated testing and verification environments
Professional software development experience using Python or similar programming languages
Experience using Jenkins, Elasticsearch, or similar DevOps and automation platforms
Experience serving in Agile leadership roles such as Scrum Master or Product Owner
Current CompTIA Security+ certification
Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, and execute technical efforts while maintaining a customer-focused mindset
