Job description

This position serves as an Information Technology Application Coordinator and a Business Analyst in the Investigations and Forensic Sciences section of the Business Systems Engineering Bureau. The role involves a variety of dynamic tasks, including leading the coordination of software upgrades, application maintenance, troubleshooting or testing applications and documenting information technology processes. Additionally, this position will assist in project initiation and planning meetings, facilitating requirement gathering and risk assessment sessions, creating and revising project charters and requirements, and collaborating on budget discussions. The role requires close collaboration with various Information Technology teams, business customers, and IT project managers.

Under the direct supervision of the Computer Information Systems Manager I, this position actively participates in the Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) Business Systems Engineering (BSE). Assisting with the formulation of overall Division goals and objectives, policy and operational issues, and special projects. This individual responds to Division or Department needs for information, analysis of current issues, or problem resolution in time frames established. This position works independently and in teams to accomplish objectives, and consults both internally and externally with application owners, ITS teams or users of Division services to evaluate their information needs and capabilities. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases., Specific duties include: Planning, coordinating and participating in application updates or upgrades and assisting with operations and maintenance of information technology systems; Working closely with information technology Production System Services team members and application business customers; Serving as a business analyst in the review and development of the system; Consulting with customers and conducting assessments to define system requirements; Reviewing and maintaining documentation for end users and vendors regarding the databases and related applications and systems; Managing customer relations including BSE managers, developers, and all project stakeholders; Working closely with the customer to learn their needs, and accurately translate them to text or diagrams, as appropriate; Assisting with performing administrator duties for the Application Inventory software application; and Performing other related duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Visio?, Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; Knowledge of various applications designed to provide technological services to department members; Knowledge of the methods of data collection; Knowledge of mathematics; Knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages and Microsoft Visio; Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to process information logically and analytically; Ability to design systems logic and/or process information logically and analytically; and Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

3.53.5 out of 5 stars 250 Marriott Dr, Tallahassee, FL 32301 $60,934.90 a year, Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy.
