Job description

The Salesforce Technical Architect defines the platform’s architecture, multi-org strategy, and enterprise standards for security, data, integration, and DevOps, setting the roadmap and guardrails for scalable, resilient solutions. The role designs reference implementations and reusable components, governs design reviews and technology selection, and aligns platform direction with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements. It sets strategy for identity and access, data governance and quality, test automation, observability, and release orchestration, while leading risk assessments and partnering with product, cybersecurity, data, and compliance leadership to evolve policies and capabilities., Platform Architecture & Strategy

  • Define Salesforce org strategy, including single vs. multi-org decisions, environment models (production, sandboxes, scratch orgs, scratch org pools), and cloud adoption boundaries across Sales, Service, Experience, and Financial Services Cloud.

  • Own the technical roadmap, upgrade strategy, and architectural principles, including metadata management and cross-org alignment.

  • Evaluate major initiatives for scalability, performance, governor limits, and long-term maintainability, approving architectural designs and exceptions.

  • FSC-specific: Define and govern the Financial Services Data Model (FSDM), including relationship hierarchies, household and account modeling, and Actionable Relationship Center (ARC) configuration. Ensure compliant data sharing models are implemented in alignment with IFC data governance and privacy requirements.

  • Experience Cloud: Define the Experience Cloud architecture strategy, including site design, guest user security model, headless vs. standard deployment patterns, digital experience governance, and integration with FSC data and processes.

Tools & technologies: Salesforce DX (SFDX), Metadata API, Tooling API, Scratch Orgs, Unlocked Packages (2GP), Salesforce CLI, Dev Hub.

Security & Compliance Architecture

-Define enterprise-wide security architecture, including identity models (SSO, OAuth, SAML), least privilege enforcement, Shield Platform Encryption, field- and record-level security, profiles, roles, permission sets, permission set groups, and sharing rules.

  • Establish security guardrails for Flows, Apex triggers, Lightning Web Components, and integrations.

  • Define and enforce guest user security policies and Experience Cloud public access controls, ensuring no unauthorized data exposure through digital portals.

  • Collaborate with enterprise security and compliance teams to align with internal IFC policies, SOC2 and data privacy regulations.

Tools & technologies: Salesforce Shield (Event Monitoring, Platform Encryption, Field Audit Trail), Setup Audit Trail, Login Forensics, Health Check, Security Center.

Integration & Data Architecture

  • Define integration patterns across Salesforce and external systems, including REST/SOAP APIs, Bulk API, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware (MuleSoft, Azure, AWS), Named Credentials, and OAuth flows.

  • Own system-of-record decisions, master data alignment, and MDM governance, ensuring reliability, observability, and resiliency.

  • Validate integrations for performance, error handling, logging, and monitoring.

  • FSC-specific: Architect data flows and integration patterns for FSC-specific objects (FinancialAccount, AccountParticipant, etc.), ensuring alignment with the FSDM and IFC master data strategy.

  • Experience Cloud: Design secure data access and API integration patterns for Experience Cloud sites, including Apex controllers, headless API exposure, and external authentication for portal users.

Tools & technologies: Salesforce Debug Logs, Event Monitoring, External Services, Azure Integration Services.

Automation & Development Architecture

  • Define Flow vs. Apex decision frameworks, coding standards, bulkification, and error handling strategies.

  • Establish reusable patterns, reference implementations, and scalable declarative and programmatic solutions.

  • Drive retirement of non-scalable or legacy automations and triggers.

  • Experience Cloud: Define LWC component architecture for Experience Cloud, including reusable component libraries, performance optimization, and audience-aware UI patterns.

DevOps & Release Architecture

  • Define enterprise DevOps standards including source-driven development, Git branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated validations, test coverage gates, rollback strategies, and second-generation packaging (2GP).

  • Approve release models for multi-team, multi-org delivery, ensuring predictability, auditability, and scalability. Execution of releases is handled by operational teams.

  • Define and govern namespace strategy, package dependency management, and version promotion pipelines across environments.

Tools & technologies: Salesforce CLI, SFDX, Git, PMD, SonarQube, Salesforce Test Automation Frameworks.

Technical Leadership

  • Act as the architectural authority for the Salesforce platform, mentoring engineers and reviewing complex designs.

  • Maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and standards documentation.

  • Communicate architectural vision clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues across development and production support.

  • Facilitate technical workshops, design sessions, and sprint planning activities as an embedded team member.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, * Deep Salesforce platform expertise: multi-tenant architecture, governor limits, metadata-driven development, event-driven patterns, and large data volume handling.

  • Financial Services Cloud: FSC Objects, relationship and household modeling, ARC, compliant data sharing, and FSC-specific automation patterns.

  • Experience Cloud: site architecture, guest user security, headless deployment, digital experience governance, and portal integration with back-end systems.

  • Enterprise security and identity architecture: SSO, MFA, Shield, encryption, and audit trails.

  • Integration architecture: APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware, OAuth, and Named Credentials.

  • Automation and code architecture: Flow, Apex, LWC, Aura, declarative patterns, bulkification, and error handling.

  • Enterprise DevOps and packaging strategy: CI/CD pipelines, second-generation packages (2GP), namespace strategy, automated testing, and rollback procedures.

  • Experience designing solutions for large, regulated organizations, with audit-ready documentation, compliance alignment, and cross-team technical leadership.
