Are you passionate about helping veterinary practices along their journey towards excellence? The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is seeking a dynamic and passionate Accreditation Specialist to join our Accreditation Team! This remote position supports veterinary hospitals in their journey toward AAHA accreditation through relationship building, critical thinking, and tailored implementation strategies.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Evaluation and Implementation Support
- Schedule and manage evaluation dates in coordination with territory Practice Consultants and team policy.
- Collaborate with territory Practice Consultants to provide strategies for meeting and maintaining AAHA Standards of Accreditation.
- Guide practices through the accreditation preparation process, ensuring they stay on track by answering questions, sharing resources, and providing tailored support.
- Administer and track progress in the self-evaluation tool, maintaining consistent and timely communication with practices.
- Offer actionable feedback and resources to assist practices in achieving accreditation, emphasizing ongoing growth and continuous improvement.
Relationship Building and Member Engagement
- Build trusting and inclusive relationships with AAHA-accredited members, prospective members, and association team members to support a unified commitment to excellence.
- Proactively assist in the recruitment and retention of accredited members through one-on-one relationship-building efforts.
- Promote the benefits of AAHA accreditation to prospective members and encourage their participation.
- Serve as an ambassador for AAHA and its mission by attending national, regional, and local meetings to connect with members and industry stakeholders.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
- Leverage critical thinking skills to address challenges in evaluation support, implementation strategies, and member interactions.
- Apply these skills to communication and interactions to manage team policies and expectations to handle unexpected situations effectively.
- Contribute to the development and support of the AAHA Standards of Accreditation by participating in implementation strategy creation.
- Contribute to the development of departmental protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and enhancements to AAHA’s Standards of Accreditation through collaborative efforts.
- Effectively and efficiently manage multiple platforms throughout the workday to support all efforts in supporting veterinary practices and team members.
- Effectively manage time and competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Operational Excellence and Team Collaboration
- Document all communication and interactions with members accurately, maintaining member data integrity in the association’s databases.
- Generate detailed reports, and review summary letters using AAHA’s technology platforms.
- Maintain a healthy territory that contributes to evaluation and recruitment operational goals.
- Operate in a consultative manner, offering implementation support and strategies with veterinary practices and professionals.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet member needs and contribute to a culture of member success across the association.
- Shadow Practice Consultants in the field for continued professional growth.
- Take on additional tasks as requested by management., * Work collaboratively with territory Practice Consultants to manage evaluation schedules, territory reports, and strategic plans to ensure territory success.
- Help to mitigate backlog by assisting the territory Practice Consultant with strategic scheduling while they maintain their evaluation performance expectations.
- Monitor recruitment efforts and track growth opportunities to increase market penetration.

Recruitment, Growth, and Awareness * Establish monthly goals for recruitment and industry awareness activities. * Contribute to territorial expansion through recruitment strategies and collaboration with the Membership Development team.

Communication Quality * Maintain a high standard of professionalism, frequency, and quality in all interactions with members and team members.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Outlook?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * AS/BS in veterinary technology or related field is required
- 3+ years’ experience as a veterinary technician or practice manager required; experience in an AAHA-accredited practice is highly desired
- CVT, LVT, RVT, RAHT or CVPM Required
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and member experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be professionally conversant
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn new technology.
- Knowledge of AAHA Standards of Accreditation and/or work experience in an AAHA-accredited veterinary practice a plus., * Bachelor’s (Preferred)
Experience:
- veterinary industry : 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CVT, LVT, RVT, or CVPM certification (Preferred)
