Job description

Relate Search has partnered with a global energy organization to recruit a Senior Data Engineer (Contract) to join their growing technology team in Downtown Houston, TX. This role will focus on building scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions that power advanced analytics and self-service business intelligence across the organization., Reporting to the GM of Engineering, the Senior Data Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with business and technical stakeholders to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and integrations within an established Azure and Snowflake environment. This individual will play a key role in enabling data accessibility, reducing friction in reporting workflows, and supporting the organization’’s continued investment in modern data infrastructure., · Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL workflows and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

· Build and support robust data integration solutions across multiple platforms and data sources.

· Optimize and manage SQL Server databases, including query tuning, stored procedures, and performance enhancements.

· Develop Python-based solutions for data transformation, automation, and analytics.

· Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.

· Integrate and manage data within Snowflake to support enterprise analytics initiatives.

· Support Power BI reporting and dashboard initiatives by ensuring reliable and accurate data delivery.

· Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance best practices are followed.

· Contribute to ongoing modernization and self-service data initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

· 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.

· Advanced experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), ETL design and implementation, and data pipeline architecture.

· Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including complex queries, optimization, and stored procedures.

· Python experience for data processing and automation.

· Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and performance tuning.

· Experience working in enterprise cloud-based data environments.

· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

· Bachelor’’s or Master’’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
