Job description

With over 50 years in business, we’ve become a leader within various market sectors including Commercial, Aerospace & Defense., We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. This is a permanent position where you will be working on cutting-edge technologies to design, develop, and enhance embedded software systems. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ranging from developing firmware for our next generation of products to optimizing our existing systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operating systems, PetaLinux, Recipe, Bitbake, and C++., 1. Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software for our embedded systems.

  1. Review code and design, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  2. Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
  3. Integrate and validate new product designs.
  4. Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
  5. Provide post-production support when necessary.
  6. Develop software for embedded systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
  7. Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software.
  8. Interface with hardware design and development.
  9. Assess third-party and open-source software.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering.
  3. Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
  4. Solid programming experience in C++ is required.
  5. Experience with Operating Systems, PetaLinux, Recipe, and Bitbake.
  6. Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  7. Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
  8. Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
  9. Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
  10. Strong documentation and writing skills.
