Job description

Join our team as a GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) Analyst supporting gas distribution utility initiatives. This role leads geospatial data quality, workflow design, and enterprise GIS support across client environments. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise, along with a background in gas distribution, data governance, and QA/QC. As a client-facing consultant, you’ll partner with utility stakeholders to define standards, optimize workflows, and ensure data accuracy. This role requires proven leadership, the ability to guide teams, and a proactive, adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment., * Serve as a GIS SME Analyst supporting gas distribution utility clients in a client-facing role.

  • Lead QA/QC efforts to ensure GIS data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
  • Perform and oversee GIS data editing and maintenance within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Define, document, and improve GIS workflows, data standards, and SOPs.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and validate data from clients and field teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams, offshore resources, and client staff.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable GIS solutions.
  • Troubleshoot GIS data, application, and workflow issues across enterprise systems.
  • Support project delivery through status updates, documentation, and cross-team coordination.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Utility mapping analysis?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience performing complex geospatial analysis and supporting GIS environments.
  • Proven experience within the gas distribution or energy utility sector.
  • Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal.
  • Demonstrated experience with QA/QC processes, data governance, and maintaining high data integrity.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining GIS data updates, including as-built workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and guide team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and improve established workflows.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting large-scale utility GIS environments.
  • Familiarity with Esri Utility Network (UN) or similar data models.
  • Existing TSA Known Traveler Number (Precheck) or ability to obtain.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work across U.S. time zones as needed.
  • Must be able to work legally in the US without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain a TSA Known Traveler Number (Precheck), if required to meet client identity verification or security requirements.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, where permitted by law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, consistent with applicable laws.
