Job description
The Security Project Engineer is responsible for low-voltage/light installation, system programming, project coordination, startup/checkout, and ongoing service. Responsible for delivering turnkey physical security installations (access control, intrusion, surveillance, integration, networking), ensuring systems are programmed, tested, commissioned, and supported for reliable operation and customer satisfaction. Ensures work is performed in accordance with relevant codes, factory instructions, and client specifications. Provides exceptional customer service and performs work in alignment with the company’s vision and mission., * Lead project delivery for turnkey physical security systems (access control, intrusion, surveillance, lighting, integration, networking) from pre-construction through closeout.
- Review project plans, specifications, and submittals; identify conflicts, scope gaps, and code or manufacturer non-compliance; recommend corrective action.
- Create and maintain project schedules, install work orders, material lists, and resource assignments; coordinate procurement, staging, and on-site logistics.
- Coordinate daily with clients, GCs, electrical/low-voltage subcontractors, IT teams, inspectors, and vendors to sequence work, resolve issues, and maintain milestones.
- Perform and supervise low-voltage and lighting installations: device mounting, conduit/raceway routing, cable pulls, terminations, grounding, and weatherproofing per drawings, codes, and manufacturer instructions.
- Install, terminate, and test cables and connectors (access control, PoE cameras, lighting control, sensors, power) using industry-standard testers; document test results.
- Program and configure systems: access control databases, card/credentialing, schedules and alarms; VMS/NVR settings, camera presets/analytics; lighting control scenes and automation logic; intrusion panel programming.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Troubleshooting electrical systems?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security systems or related industry
- General electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience reading engineering documents and installation
- Knowledge of security systems: Access Control, Surveillance, Networking, Intrusion
- Avigilon, Axis, Milestone, Tridium, PDK, Hanwha knowledge preferred, * Do you have at least 5 years experience installing security systems?
