Job description
In partnership with a leading US Insurtech company, we develop and implement a corporate underwriting system. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Java Developer residing in the United States to join our project team. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor focused on high-quality code delivery, while also serving as a vital link between our European engineering teams and our US-based clients.
Key technologies and tools: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, Docker.
Methodology: Scrum
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend solutions based on business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
- Ensure high quality, security, and reliability of delivered software.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform code reviews and support best engineering practices.
- Write unit and integration tests and support production readiness.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Spring Boot?, * 8+ years of professional Java experience (Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- Current residency in the United States (Mandatory).
- Strong experience working in distributed, international teams.
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices and building robust systems.
- Native or bilingual English proficiency with a deep understanding of US business etiquette and client-facing communication.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong focus on code quality and maintainability.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the Insurance or Fintech domain, * Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the US (W2 preferred).
- Location: Fully Remote, but must be physically based in the USA (ET or CT time zones preferred).
- Hours: Collaboration expected during ET/CT business hours
