Job description

Location - This role is eligible to be performed remotely, however, if you reside within 100 miles of Organic Valley offices in WI, you will be expected to collaborate onsite in a hybrid fashion for 4-8 days per month. If you reside outside of 100 miles, you will travel in 4 times/year for intentional collaboration and connection. Summary of Role The SAP Functional Architect serves as a key liaison between IT and business management and is accountable for requirements analysis and functional solution design for critical end to end business processes within the Financial Management area. This role ensures solutions are aligned with enterprise IT strategies while addressing documented business needs in the FICO area.

The SAP Functional Architect proactively presents SAP landscape design and blueprinting in order to present advanced FICO-related capabilities at an enterprise-wide and scalable manner. This role also brings advanced experience leading cross functional teams and translating business requirements into functional specifications, including process improvement recommendations, cross functional impact analysis, application enhancements, system configuration, and issue resolution with a focus on customer satisfaction and short time-to-market. As a senior member of the BSA team, this role works closely with business leaders across multiple functions to support the delivery of solutions that enable the cooperative’s strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive cross functional solution delivery and realization (30%)

o Lead collaboration with development teams to deliver configured, unit tested solutions that meet quality, security, and testing standards. o Define the architecture and design for complex cross-functional processes that touch FICO. o Facilitate high profile, cross functional solution design sessions, identifying interdependencies, gaps in functionality, and user impacts. o Support solution realization through configuration support (as needed), testing validation, issue investigation, root cause analysis, and coordination with third party SAP vendors.

  • Lead requirements analysis and functional solution design for SAP business processes (30%)

o Research, analyze, and document business requirements and process improvements with emphasis on SAP capabilities and integration points. o Design functional solutions, including SAP configuration related to organizational structure, master data, and business processes, and present solution options to business process owners. o Develop and maintain functional specifications, business process documentation, user stories, and end to end process flows to support solution delivery.

  • Deliver system landscape design, technical governance, and integration system standards in order to guide advanced system design (20%)

o Establish guidelines for enterprise-wide system standards within the Financial Management environment area within SAP. o Deliver with the Technical Development Architect robust design and document interface solutions using various technologies (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs, APIs, OData services, SAP PI/PO or CPI). o Review and audit current configuration and enhancements in order to confirm adherence to design standards.

  • Provide senior-level guidance, prioritization, and operational support (20%)

o Provide informal coaching, mentorship, and leadership to BSAs and subject matter experts. o Assist leadership with prioritization of work requests, defect resolution, and smaller to mid scale project efforts. o Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate new SAP technologies and integration patterns o Support super users, participate in on call support as needed, and stay current on SAP trends and innovations relevant to assigned process areas.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Unit testing?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems preferred; or 10+ years of equivalent experience and/or relevant business experience

  • Demonstrated expert level knowledge of SAP, with 10+ years of functional or technical experience, including SAP configuration and implementation across one or more business processes
  • Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of SAP integration points for transactional and master data across end to end processes especially those that have FICO touch points
  • Ability to design and deliver solutions aligned with the organization’s strategic direction
  • Demonstrated experience in a formal or informal leadership role, including facilitation, mentorship, and influence without authority
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities for small to large scale initiatives
  • Proven abilities in strategic planning, continuous improvement, and stakeholder influence
  • Experience presenting strategic and complex solution designs to director level business stakeholders or above
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with exceptional documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to lead in all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to resolve conflicting or contentious perspectives across the organization
  • Ability to work weekends and after business hours as needed (minimal)
