Job description

  • Verifying all samples and data received
  • Identifying/pursuing discrepancies in specimen info
  • Data entry and sample labeling
  • Quality control of each workflow step
  • Use of LIMS system to enter critical patient data
  • Run reports to track key quality metrics
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards
  • Organizes work area for optimal efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands: This position will require extensive use of a computer (mousing, keyboarding) and may involve sitting for extended periods of time.

Safety: Some risk of exposure to chemicals, biological substances, sharps and/or scientific instruments capable of causing bodily injury if used improperly. We comply with OSHA standards regarding Bloodborne pathogens, Safety Needle Act, Chemical Hygiene Plan in addition to maintaining robust safety & training programs.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word processing?, Accessioning is the process of receiving, logging, and labeling patient specimens when they arrive at our laboratory to ensure each sample is properly identified and tracked before testing begins. This is a critical first step that, when performed correctly, allows for seamless processing through sample preparation, analysis, and reporting phases. An ideal candidate for this role will have strong attention to detail, the ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, and a desire to deliver high-quality patient care. Although prior experience in a healthcare environment is not required, previous data entry experience is strongly preferred, as this is an essential component of the job., * Ability to work the advertised shift consistently + maintain good attendance

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Typing and Data Entry Skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies and work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions
