Job description

Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer who will serve as a technical leader supporting customer onboarding, cloud infrastructure deployments, CI/CD initiatives, project buildouts, and day-two operations within Google Cloud Platform. This individual will design, deploy, and support secure, scalable cloud solutions while providing a high-touch, “white glove” experience to application development teams migrating to and operating within GCP. The role combines cloud architecture, Kubernetes administration, networking, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, mentorship, and operational excellence. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with relocation to Springfield, MO required within six months of conversion to full-time employment.

Responsibilities

Design secure, scalable GCP solutions for production workloads.
Support customer onboarding and cloud adoption initiatives.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
Build reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
Manage GKE, Cloud Run, and cloud networking components.
Establish observability and monitoring best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point.
Support production incidents and operational changes.
Collaborate with Security, Architecture, QA, and Governance teams.
Create technical documentation, SOPs, and design documents.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tooling?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
6+ years of overall IT experience.
4+ years of GCP experience.
Advanced knowledge of:
GKE
Cloud Run
GCP Architecture
Networking & Security
Terraform
CI/CD Tooling

Preferred

Google Cloud Certifications.
Experience with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Dynatrace, or similar APM tools.
GitOps experience (Flux or Argo).
Experience managing on-premises infrastructure., * Google Cloud Platform: 4 years (Preferred)
Terraform: 3 years (Preferred)
Google Kubernetes Engine: 3 years (Preferred)
