COBOL / SQL Business Analyst

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for product enhancements.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Support both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Participate in release planning, coordination, and execution for frequent product releases.
• Analyze and document impacts across legacy and modern systems.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams throughout the SDLC.
• Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production issue investigations.

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong knowledge of legacy systems, product enhancement initiatives, and release management processes. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business analysis and technical expertise, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions., * Strong Business Analysis experience (approximately 70% BA / 30% Technical focus).

• Experience working on product enhancement and maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with release management processes and back-to-back product releases.
• Familiarity with legacy systems and older technologies.

• Understanding of:

• COBOL applications
• SQL and database concepts
• Mainframe systems
• Windows-to-Web communication architectures
• Inter-Process Communication (IPC) mechanisms
• Web Services (SOAP/REST)
• Web APIs
• Background jobs / batch processing
• Web and Desktop applications

Ability to perform impact analysis across multiple integrated systems.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modernization projects involving legacy applications.
• Exposure to mainframe-to-web integration initiatives.
• Knowledge of software architecture and system integration patterns.
