Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) Artificial Intelligence Django Web Framework Web Servers ReactJS Swift (Programming Language) Backend Data Layers Kotlin React Native

Job description

  • Build and extend a complex Django backend - APIs, data models, and services that power consumer products.
  • Own correctness and performance across backend boundaries, not just the happy path.

Client Integration

  • Wire the backend to a web client (React) and/or a mobile client (Swift / Kotlin / React Native).
  • Own the full request path end to end - from the data layer to the interface the user actually touches.

Full-Stack Ownership

  • Ship features end to end, taking ambiguous product goals to working software with minimal direction.
  • Flex across languages and stacks as the work demands; ramp quickly on unfamiliar parts of the system.

AI-Native Execution

  • Use modern AI coding tools fluently to ship at high velocity across multiple workstreams.
  • Run your own productivity harness - managing parallel agent streams and many concurrent tickets is the default, not the exception., * Backend plus one or more mobile stacks (Swift and/or Kotlin) - strong full-stack-plus-mobile range is rare and highly valued.
  • Experience in privacy, identity, security, fintech, or other high-compliance domains.
  • Startup background where you owned features end to end.

Role Characteristics

  • Contract engagement, time-and-materials; begins with a two-week trial.
  • High autonomy, high accountability - top-percentile execution expected.
  • AI-native by default; ramps quickly and flexes across the stack as the product requires.
  • East Coast time-zone overlap with the team.

Requirements

  • Strong production experience with Django (or a comparable complex backend) and at least one client stack - web (React) or mobile (Swift, Kotlin, React Native).
  • Daily fluency with AI-assisted development tools and a personal setup for working quickly across parallel tasks.
  • Demonstrated fluency wiring backends to clients and owning the full path between them.
  • A strong technical thinker who ramps into new languages and stacks quickly.
  • Proven ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding and operate autonomously in ambiguity.
  • Daily fluency with AI-assisted development tools and a personal setup for working quickly across parallel tasks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication.

About the company

Cloaked is a privacy-first identity company building consumer products that protect people’s personal information at scale. We are an AI-native team that ships fast and operates lean. We are looking for Full Stack Engineers who can move fluently between a Django backend and the clients that sit on top of it - web and mobile alike.

This is a hands-on contract engagement, not a delineated-task role. The core of the job is wiring: taking a sophisticated Django backend and connecting it cleanly to a web or mobile client, owning both sides of the seam. Specific languages matter less than the ability to think clearly across the full stack and move quickly - with AI, strong engineers flex into new stacks fast.
