Job description
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior UX Design Engineer to bridge the gap between sophisticated design strategy and technical UI implementation. This role is not just about aesthetics; it is about UI Engineering. You will partner with business and engineering teams to prioritize UX activities throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and sentient design experiences. The ideal candidate thrives in complex technical environments, managing backlogs and technical constraints while advocating fiercely for the end user., User Advocacy & Strategy: Lead discussions on sentient design, interaction features, and information architecture. Influence product and engineering decisions to ensure alignment with user needs. UI Engineering & Design Systems: Deliver expert guidance on UI components and accessible component libraries. Support the development team in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, specifically focusing on the presentation layer. Iterative Design & Production: Create innovative designs rapidly through sketches, storyboards, task flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes. Produce final assets for specific enterprise features. Accessibility Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert for Section 508 and WCAG compliance, ensuring all modular designs are fully accessible and reusable across the enterprise. Collaboration & Feedback: Facilitate stakeholders through the design process, synthesizing data from multiple sources to develop product strategies and gathering actionable feedback for iteration. Technical Integration: Assist IT engineers in incorporating business and user requirements into functional applications. Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or equivalent professional experience. Experience: 8+ years of technical work experience, including 5+ years in UX research and 3+ years of high-level prototyping. Technical Skills: * Advanced experience with Storybook, HTML/CSS/JS best practices. oIntermediate experience with React, Angular, GitLab, and AI coding assistants. oExpert proficiency in Figma and MURAL. Portfolio: Must demonstrate sentient design, component-driven architecture, and the application of UX metrics in complex UI patterns. Process Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Agile concepts (PI Planning, Sprints, Kanban) and usability testing tools. Certifications: UX or Design Thinking certifications are highly desirable.
