Job description
As a Network Software Engineer you will design, develop and test the network capabilities for the combat management system containing radar systems and optical sensor systems. The CMS Infrastructure team is responsible for the entire development chain - requirements analysis, development, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. The role involves a combination of remote work and on-site duties in Hengelo, Netherlands.

We seek a talented Network Software Engineer who excels in complex deployments of networks and systems, has strong communication and analytical skills, and embodies a growth and agile mindset.

Relevant Experiences:
- Network Technologies: Experience with network technologies like: Routing, Switching, OSPF, Multicast & Firewalling. (CCNA certification is required, CCNP certification is a plus).
- IT Security: Experience with Firewalling, cyber security and compliance regulation (e.g., Cisco ASA, OpenScap, Nessus, DISA STIG).
- Linux: Over 3 years of experience. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.
- Software Maintenance: Experience maintaining software across Operating System releases.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Ansible, certification or demonstratable knowledge is a plus
- Tools and Technologies: Experience with or a willingness to quickly learn the following:
- Build pipelines and support tooling (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira)
- Software containers & Kubernetes
- Confluence
- Scaled scrum: experience is a plus
An important requirement to fulfil this role is flexibility and the ability to communicate efficiently in English to all types (technical, management) of stakeholders.
