Software Team Lead

We’re looking for a hands-on Software Team Lead to lead a high-performing engineering team in Bristol, combining strong people leadership with deep technical expertise.

The Role

As a Software Team Lead, you will:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 software engineers

Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full software lifecycle:

Requirements analysis Design & architecture Implementation Testing & integration DeliveryPlay a key role in system-level decision making, including software integration with hardware and networks

Manage project schedules, priorities, and team budget

Ensure delivery aligns with customer requirements and business objectives

Technical Environment

You’ll work with modern tools and technologies including:

C++ (modern standards) Visual Studio, Git, Jira Qt framework (desirable) Simulation-based and networked systems

Proven experience leading software or engineering teams Strong background in developing complex, high-integrity systems Experience balancing people management with technical leadership Solid understanding of: Systems architecture & integration Requirements definition Software lifecycle delivery Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills in complex, ambiguous environments
