Job description

The Maven Exploitation Specialist/ Data Scientist Experts will support the maintenance and implementation of the data architecture for all Program data. This position requires experience with databases, cloud architectures, and compliance with data standards. This position is responsible for maintaining data backend workflows that allow for data operations across security domains and across systems., * Create the necessary infrastructure to store and process data related to emergent sensors and platforms. This includes creation of any database tables and schemas, establishing relevant data health alerts, and the setup of data pipelines to support Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) of all data related to the emergent sensors Develop workflows to enable API-based movement of data related to the emergent sensors between platforms.

  • Ensure all emergent sensor data adheres to Government directed data schemas, formats, and governance requirements
  • Develop, construct, test, and maintain databases and large-scale, and complex data processing systems
  • Clean, prepare, and transform QM data to support the building of geospatial data pipelines that create a curated view of the content for IC consumption
  • Apply knowledge of scripting tools, programming languages, standards, and software packages to build the data pipelines that enable the consumption of data supporting QM’s mission needs
  • Support data analytics, data cleansing, analyst workflow efficiencies, and transformation supporting Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) capabilities
  • Ensure all data activities conform to NGA Maven’s data governance policies to include: data lifecycle, data structure/schema definitions, data formats (JSON, parquet, XML, CSV, etc.), and access controls.
  • Exhibit proficiency in working with cloud architectures, maintaining SQL and no-SQL databases, programming APis, and data version control management
  • Support cross-domain solutions using NGA enterprise tooling
  • Manage the generation, approval, and population of data into databases, ensuring that all data complies with security regulations and satisfies customer requirements., * Monitor data and standards changes and adjust data architecture to remain in compliance
  • Support the use/development of cloud computing systems and perform automated analytics
  • Populate, manage, and maintain metadata standards
  • Maintain data availability, accuracy, consistency, and reliability for all training data operations

  • Configure and monitor data health alerts to ensure training data operations are optimized and accessible
  • Create and maintain Government directed and approved software and computing environments to enable data preprocessing work, such as creating NPEs to enable connections to external systems, setting up software environments to enable development activities, and establishing appropriate Gitlab repositories. Support data pipeline setup and maintenance for data preprocessing activities across all security domains.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud architectures
  • Experience leveraging APis to query systems and migrate data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
  • Experience developing, sustaining, and monitoring operational data pipelines supporting multiple data formats and interfaces.
  • Conduct regular Quality Control (QC) and monitor the content to ensure it aligns to existing data standards and requirement specifications
  • Assess and report the current state of compliance of data holdings in both written and oral forms., * Experience working with NGA IT enterprise solutions (e.g., NGA CORE, NGA MLOps), Government Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and Government Non-Person Entity (NPE) certificates.
  • Experience implementing processes, standards, and tools within an organization based on the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise.
  • Experience developing dynamic visualizations to monitor availability, currency and volumetrics of operational data pipelines.

Benefits & conditions

Pay Range: $210,000-$230,000
