Job description

We are seeking a Senior Elixir Developer to join our existing team and aid in the development of SRT’s web delivered products which form a key element of its portfolio of marine domain awareness products and services.

You will be accountable for developing highly stable, secure, scalable and extensible platforms that enables the Web delivered products to evolve at pace.

You’ll work across the stack - from core domain logic and APIs to interactive LiveView-driven frontends - with significant influence over architecture, technical direction, and engineering culture.

You will be interested in evolving technologies and driven by how to apply these to solve complex challenges as the platform and business rapidly grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Elixir Developer, you will embrace best-practice software development processes.

You will be expected to embrace and promote SRT’s values of Innovation, Quality, Responsibility, Team working and Ambition.

You will work with the Product Management team, following Agile working practices, to deliver high performing products and services.

Requirements

Technical Depth & Breadth: Previous experience with cloud-hosted internet platforms solutions, with strong understanding in technology ranging from infrastructure and operations to data architectures. Experience of modern web technologies, with rapid deploy, automated scaling and high volume, high availability distributed systems.

  • Experience with Elixir

  • Experience with the Phoenix Framework and Phoenix Liveview

  • Geospatial and/or Maplibre experience would be a benefit.

  • Significant demonstrable development experience including in an Agile environment.

  • Be able to demonstrable ability of improving quality.

  • Have a demonstrable ability to communicate to a wide technical audience.

  • Be able to create design documentation.

  • Be able to adhere to company-wide design principles and best practices.
