Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to lead and execute large-scale data migration initiatives from Oracle databases to Snowflake on the cloud. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, performance optimization, and cloud data engineering best practices. This role will work closely with architecture, analytics, and platform engineering teams to ensure a seamless, secure, and high quality migration., * Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to migrate structured and semi structured data from Oracle to Snowflake.

  • Develop scalable ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Informatica, DBT, Matillion, or Python-based frameworks.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness post migration.
  • Optimize Snowflake warehouse performance, including clustering, partitioning, caching, and query tuning.
  • Collaborate with data architects to define data models, schemas, and transformation logic aligned with business requirements.
  • Implement best practices for security, governance, and data lifecycle management within Snowflake.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues related to SQL performance, data types, stored procedures, and dependencies.
  • Support CI/CD automation for data pipelines and maintain documentation for all migration processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
  • Proven experience migrating data to Snowflake, including Snowflake SQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Time Travel.
  • Proficiency with Python, ETL/ELT tools, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for data engineering.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DBT, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Informatica, Matillion, or Fivetran.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake cost optimization and workload management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
