Job description

Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems and deliver integrated data solutions that inform product investment and business strategy

  • Apply AI tools and techniques to accelerate analysis and deepen business understanding

  • Create scalable and insightful data solutions (dashboards, models, extracts) to answer key business questions

  • Identify opportunities to improve or automate large-scale data analyses, statistics, and visualization solutions

  • Implement data quality processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of BI systems

  • Build and manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly business review metrics

  • Lead BI projects independently end-to-end

  • Share your insights and learnings broadly, through team demos, cross-team learning sessions, and senior leadership discussions

The IMDb Insights & Analytics team mission is to empower our customers, both internal and external, with accurate, timely, and actionable data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions and enhance the customer experience. Our team of BIEs, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists owns analytics across all IMDb business lines, including global customer engagement, advertising performance, professional subscription services, and content coverage and quality. In addition to supporting the analytic needs of IMDb, our data solutions power a growing number of customer-facing experiences, leveraging IMDb’s unique and valuable data to enrich the customer experience.

Requirements

IMDb is looking for an experienced and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to unlock key industry insights and trends. As an analytics leader on our team, you will work closely with Product Managers, Finance Leaders, Marketing Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Development Engineers to solve unique and challenging problems. You will leverage your intellect, curiosity, analytical rigor, and technical ability to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. You will harness the power of AI to accelerate understanding and unlock key insights informing business strategy and investment. You will dive deep into existing and new data sources to create unique and actionable insights to best serve our diverse global population of entertainment fans, professionals, advertisers, contributors, and data licensees., 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience

  • 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience

  • 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience

  • 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field

  • Demonstrable experience leveraging AI to accelerate insight generation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms, while also being able to effectively communicate with technical teams

Benefits & conditions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
