Firewall Engineer

We are supporting a large enterprise organisation with the appointment of several experienced Firewall Engineers to join a major network transformation programme.This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong Fortinet expertise to work on firewall migrations, upgrades and deployment projects within a complex enterprise environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure and deploy Fortinet and Cisco Firepower firewall solutions, with a primary focus on Fortinet.Deliver firewall hardware migrations, including migrations between Fortinet platforms and Cisco Firepower to Fortinet.Perform firewall OS upgrades and support implementation activities.Produce and review High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).Troubleshoot and resolve live network and firewall issues.Support project delivery through change management processes, including:Raising Change RequestsPreparing pre-checks and implementation plansCompleting post-implementation validationAssessing service impactAttending CAB meetings where requiredWork closely with infrastructure, networking and project teams to deliver successful implementations.Skills & Experience EssentialStrong hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls, ideally including the 1600D, 1800F, 3400E and 4200F platforms.Experience with Cisco Firepower, ideally including the Cisco 4110 platform.Experience using FortiManager.Experience using FortiConverter.Proven experience delivering firewall hardware migrations and OS upgrades.Experience creating High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).Strong troubleshooting skills within live production environments.Experience working within formal Change Management processes, including CAB.DesirableCCNP-level knowledge of routing and switching.Previous experience working within large enterprise or regulated environments.
