Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in LLM modeling (pre-training or fine-tuning).
• One or more scientific publications in the ML/AI conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to any of these domains (legal, finance, or healthcare).
• Experience taking research from concept to product.
• Experience with collaborating or leading an applied research project.
• Experience with JAX.

About the Job: We are seeking a driven Research Scientist or Research Engineer to expand the capabilities of our Gemini pre-training models across the legal, finance, and healthcare domains.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Salary:

France: 104,000 - 107,000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain high-quality evaluation protocols to assess model capabilities, identify gaps, and measure headroom within the legal, financial, and healthcare sectors.
• Propose novel data solutions and execute rigorous, end-to-end experimental plans to address known model limitations, construct entirely new capabilities, and demonstrate measurable improvements.
• Propose, build and rapidly iterate on new ideas based on the team needs.
