Job description

This role is focused on developing,implementing, and managing comprehensive accident prevention and safetyprograms across company projects, with a strong emphasis on constructionsafety. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for conducting work areaassessments, performing and documenting jobsite inspections, deliveringtraining, coordinating safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with federaland state regulations. A key aspect of the role involves supervising programeffectiveness through field walks, supporting leadership in incidentinvestigations and job hazard analyses, and providing coaching to foster safebehaviors among employees. This position requires a minimum of 5 years ofconstruction safety experience and OSHA 30 certification, emphasizing aproactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment.

What you will do:

  • Developsand manages the administration of the project/company accident preventionefforts.

  • Developand facilitate appropriate training programs.

  • Conductwork area assessments.

  • Develop,organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safetystandards.

  • Performand document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognitionand unsafe behaviors.

  • Coordinateand conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communicationamongst employees.

  • Participatein regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance withfederal and state regulations.

  • Ensuresafety completion by reviewing the job hazard analysis for major phases of ourwork.

  • SupportCrew Foreman/General Foremen in development of Job Hazard Analyses.

  • Evaluateeffectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks. Regulatorycompliance and audit oversight.

  • Meetregularly with field personnel and support in the development of projectspecific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns.

  • Provideregular feedback to project leadership in a constructive manner on needed areasfor safety improvement and recognition.

  • Providecoaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and providerecognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.

  • Assistwith delivery of jobsite specific safety orientations for new employees joiningthe project, as applicable.

  • SupportProject Leadership in completion of incident investigations.

  • Facilitateall injury/illness cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum5 years in construction safety experience

  • OSHA 10 Construction required. OSHA 30 Preferred

  • STS-Cor above are required .

  • Experiencewith union workforce desired.

  • Abilityto work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influencebehaviors.

  • Proficientin using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • BS degree or 5-7 years of related experience and at least 2 years supervising safety protocols and programs.
