Job description

The IT Specialist, under the supervision of the IT Manager, is responsible for supporting the secure and efficient delivery of technology services for Thompson Valley Health Services District (TVEMS). This position provides technical support across all departments and assists with maintaining computer systems, software applications, communication systems, and IT infrastructure. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Support networking and communication systems including Wi-Fi connectivity, phone systems, and fax systems.
  • Assist staff with business, clinical, billing, quality, and administrative software applications.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, databases, and related infrastructure to support operational efficiency.
  • Assist with basic website maintenance and coordinate with vendors or contractors for upgrades and support.
  • Monitor systems for potential cybersecurity threats and follow IT security best practices.
  • Provide end-user training, technical guidance, and support documentation as needed.
  • Travel to satellite stations within the district to troubleshoot and repair IT equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned., Work is performed in an office and healthcare support environment using computers, printers, phones, and standard office equipment. Occasional travel within the district is required. Position may involve lifting equipment and supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and heavier items occasionally. Pre-Employment Testing and Screening Final candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer, pre-employment testing and screening in accordance with applicable federal and state law. These requirements may include:

  • Job-related physical ability testing designed to evaluate the ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Post-offer medical examination, conducted in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and required of all candidates entering this job classification
  • Drug and alcohol screening, as permitted by law.
  • Background investigation, including criminal history and motor vehicle record review.

All testing and screening requirements are job-related, consistent with business necessity, and applied uniformly to candidates for this position.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, * Associate’s degree in computer science or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Network+ are preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in Information Technology support and troubleshooting, including diagnosing and resolving technical support tickets, providing customers with direct and phone-based technical assistance, and maintaining reliable IT operations.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts including DNS, IP addressing, and router configuration.
  • Familiarity with Azure product suite, including set up and maintenance of Active Directory and SQL Server environments. Exposure to electronic patient care reporting software, specifically ESO.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable in networking concepts including Wi-Fi connectivity, IP addressing, DNS, and router configuration.
  • Experienced with Microsoft 365 applications and support services.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with experience assisting users in resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Familiar with IT best practices and help desk support environments.

  • Pension plan, This is an hourly, non-exempt position in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The annualized pay range for this role is $71,904 - $101,181.60 based on full-time employment. The starting hourly rate will be determined based on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
