Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing security team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who is passionate about safeguarding digital assets, identifying emerging threats, and strengthening organisational security.

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security incidents while helping to maintain a robust and secure IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and threat detection tools.
  • Investigate, analyse, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability management activities.
  • Support incident response and remediation efforts across the organisation.
  • Monitor network traffic and system activity to identify potential threats.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement security controls and best practices.
  • Assist with compliance initiatives, security audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed on emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry trends.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Network security?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in a Cyber Security Analyst, Information Security Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and security best practices.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms, endpoint security tools, and vulnerability management solutions.
  • Knowledge of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and threat intelligence.
  • Familiarity with security incident response processes and forensic investigations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, or CySA+.
  • Experience with cloud security environments including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies and security assessment tools.
  • Understanding of GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, or Cyber Essentials frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.
