Job description

  • Design scalable multi-layer architectures (raw / curated / consumption) aligned with the company’s global data strategy
  • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines with reusable transformation logic
  • Build dimensional models (star schema, data marts); standardise KPI-ready datasets
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security and RBAC
  • Enforce standards with Airflow and dbt; optimise Snowflake pipelines/queries for performance and cost
  • Collaborate with BAs, Product Owners and stakeholders; document and support knowledge transfer

Main deliverables include end-to-end architecture and layer design; source-to-target mapping and technical design docs; production-ready ETL/ELT pipelines and Airflow DAGs with monitoring, error handling and retry logic; Snowflake fact/dimension models and certified data marts; data dictionary; data quality rules, validation scripts and observability/alerting; RBAC and lineage documentation; query and cost optimisation; exposed datasets for Qlik/Power BI; DEV?UAT?PROD release packages; testing, reconciliation and UAT support; runbooks, handover and knowledge-transfer sessions.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Security?, You should have strong data engineering, architecture and large-scale platform expertise with advanced SQL and dimensional modelling skills. Proven ETL/ELT design experience with Apache Airflow, dbt and Snowflake is required (Snowflake preferred). You must have cloud experience with AWS, Azure or equivalent, and knowledge of the modern data stack. Data governance, lifecycle management, security and RBAC expertise is essential. You should be proficient with Git, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Strong problem-solving abilities and clear communication with technical and business stakeholders in international, distributed teams are required. A minimum of 8+ years of experience is required for this senior-level position.

About the company

The Europe Data Team at a global logistics company delivers end-to-end data platforms, data products and analytics for the European Regional Office, working with business stakeholders, IT and Head Office. As global platforms are not yet fully deployed in the region, the team builds regional data products and intermediate solutions that meet immediate business needs while staying aligned with the future enterprise architecture (Snowflake, governance models).
