Job description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and products on Azure and Databricks.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability across the data lifecycle.
  • Translate business needs into robust technical solutions, delivering accurate data to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to platform standards (coding, CI/CD, data modelling, testing, monitoring).
  • Troubleshoot production issues, including root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Optimise performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability of data workflows.
  • Develop and enhance ELT/ETL pipelines with a focus on scalability.
  • Orchestrate workflows using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (Airflow a plus).
  • Implement data quality checks, testing, and pipeline monitoring.
  • Work with Azure services (storage, networking basics, security, cost awareness).
  • Support CI/CD and release processes (Jenkins a plus).
  • Produce clear documentation and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Spark?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * Master’s degree in computer science, distributed systems, data engineering, engineering or equivalent.

  • Significant experience in Data Engineering.
  • Solid experience in developing, optimising and maintaining scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using modern data technologies (Databricks, Spark, Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Python, with the ability to write clean, readable and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices and deployment workflows in a data engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI is a plus, including dataset preparation, data modelling, dashboard support, and enabling business reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
  • Experience in ensuring data quality, consistency and performance across data platforms, while applying data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to solve complex data challenges and continuously improve data solutions.
