Job description
Alamo City Engineering Services, Inc. (ACES) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Administrator to support mission-critical federal and DoD environments. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise networking, cloud security, and secure collaboration platforms, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) and Zscaler cloud security solutions.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior technologist who can operate independently, lead complex deployments, and support secure, highly available network environments while collaborating closely with cybersecurity, engineering, and program leadership teams., * Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure enterprise network environments supporting federal and DoD missions
- Serve as a senior technical resource for Microsoft 365 GCC High, including administration, security configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management

Act as a Zscaler Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting:

Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
-
Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
- Policy design, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Support secure access architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security posture; identify and remediate issues proactively
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with applicable DoD and federal security requirements
- Document network architectures, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines
- Track tasks, incidents, and changes using JIRA
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior administrators and engineers as needed
- Participate in change management, incident response, and operational readiness activities
Requirements
Do you have experience in Security technology solutions implementations?, * Minimum 10 years of experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer in enterprise environments
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 GCC High
- At least 5 years of experience as a Zscaler SME, including ZIA and ZPA deployments and operations
- Strong understanding of secure networking, cloud security, and access control concepts
- Experience using JIRA for task, incident, and change tracking
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network and cloud security issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative technical team
- Must reside within a one-hour driving distance of Spring Branch, Texas, * Experience supporting DoD or other federal government environments
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture concepts
- Experience working in regulated or high-security environments
- Relevant certifications (e.g., networking, cloud, or security)
