Enterprise Architect

As an Enterprise Architect at Cognite, you will play a pivotal role in the Expert Services Offerings department within our Value Delivery organisation. In this customer-facing position, you will work directly with key customers, field sales, delivery teams, and product development. You will use your seniority and technical competencies to help lead our industrial customers to increase productivity, profitability, reduce environmental impact and reduce costs. Our customers are large international process and energy industries, with challenges in asset performance and maintenance, production efficiency, and sustainability. Together with the team, you will define solutions and support each integration through to a successful finish.

Through our services offerings, customers can get access to technical expertise, advisory, and hands-on assistance in developing and implementing solutions on top of Cognite Data Fusion As an Enterprise Architect, you will help deliver on the objectives and outcomes sold and defined in Support Offer/Success Track contracts. You will be hands-on in Python as well as maintain good hands-on expertise with software development best practices including:

• End-to-end architecture and solution design leadership
• Providing strategic and technical expertise to support customers and the customer-facing project teams
• Defining enterprise and solution architecture, including integration and data models and data ingestion pipelines, as well as user-facing solutions
• Expressing complex technical solutions through architecture modeling tools
• Ensure operational responsibility and support agreements for the delivered solutions
• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, C-level executives, and IT and Business Data Managers to drive long-term adoption of Cognite’s products and services
• Training internal teams and partners in your area of specialization
• Collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to translate customer needs into product offerings
• Independently work with managing integration, data modeling, and related activities using Cognite data connectors and extractors, SQL, Python/Java, Rest APIs and Cloud platform providers like Azure, AWS & Google
• Collaborate with our Sales, Engineering and Product Management teams to turn customer needs into a prioritized pipeline of product offerings
• Develop and maintain technical and business expertise for Cognite’s products, * Customer Success & Long-Term Adoption: You build strong relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders that drive long-term adoption of Cognite’s products and services, directly contributing to customer retention and expansion opportunities
• Technical Leadership & Solution Excellence: Your end-to-end architecture and solution design leadership ensures customers receive robust, scalable, operationally sound solutions that deliver on promised objectives and outcomes within Support Offer/Success Track contracts
• Strategic Translation & Product Influence: You translate complex customer needs into prioritized product offerings and strategic recommendations, bridging the gap between customer pain points and Cognite’s product roadmap
• Technical Depth & Hands-On Expertise: You bring hands-on Python proficiency and deep software development best practices, enabling you to independently manage complex technical work while maintaining credibility with engineering teams and customers
• Organizational Excellence & Ownership: You are highly organized, thorough, and take ownership of tasks independently-ensuring projects move forward with precision, clear communication with all stakeholders, and accountability for delivery
• Collaborative Leadership & Team Development: You are able to collaborate, lead, and coach internal teams and partners in your area of specialization, elevating team capability and building organizational expertise around Cognite’s solutions
• Global Perspective & Adaptability: You are open to travel, enabling you to work directly with international customers, build relationships across geographies, and maintain deep customer-facing presence in key markets

Do you have experience in Software development?, * 10+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Solutions Architect, with demonstrated progression into architecture and design leadership roles

• 5+ years in a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, or Enterprise Architect role, with proven track record designing and delivering end-to-end solutions for enterprise customers
• Experience supporting scaling SaaS, B2B software, or technology organizations in high-growth or enterprise environments, with demonstrated comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving customer requirements
• Strong technical background in backend software engineering with hands-on proficiency in Python and/or Java; willing and able to dive in and contribute code for advanced topics when needed
• Proven experience defining solution architectures for complex enterprise integrations, including data ingestion pipelines, API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native solutions
• Demonstrated success working with enterprise customers in industrial domains such as Manufacturing, Energy, Oil & Gas, Process Industries, Pharma, or Life Sciences-understanding their operational challenges, business models, and technical constraints
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure, container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, IT leaders, and technical stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle

Preferred Experience

• Experience from domains like Manufacturing, Energy, O&G, Pharma, Life sciences is preferred
