Job description

We are seeking experienced Mainframe COBOL Developers to join a high-performing enterprise technology team supporting critical business applications. We have multiple contract openings for DEV III and DEV IV level professionals with strong IBM mainframe development experience.

These positions involve analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise applications in a collaborative Agile environment.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring onsite work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with additional onsite days as needed.

Local candidates are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design effective software solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain COBOL applications.
  • Develop and support enterprise mainframe applications throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Prepare technical specifications and participate in application design.
  • Modify existing programs and implement system enhancements.
  • Perform unit testing, system testing, debugging, and production support.
  • Create test files, validate business logic, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Analyze production issues, troubleshoot application defects, and coordinate resolutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.
  • Ensure applications meet organizational standards and project timelines.
  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • For DEV IV candidates, provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members as needed., * Contract Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Degree Equivalency

  • Four (4) years of related work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, or
  • Associate degree plus two (2) years of additional related experience.

  • Minimum 4 years of application development, systems testing, or related experience.

DEV IV

  • Minimum 6 years of application development, systems testing, or related experience.

Required Technical Skills

Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:
