Job description

Integrated Logistics Services (ILSMD) is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Prime BEEF Airfield Systems Specialist to support mission-critical airfield operations, Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS), logistics activities, warehouse operations, inventory management, and administrative functions at Grissom Air Reserve Base.

This position plays a vital role in maintaining operational readiness by supporting airfield systems, aircraft arresting equipment, supply accountability, and deployment readiness requirements. The successful candidate will support Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (Prime BEEF) operations while ensuring the availability, maintenance, accountability, and operational effectiveness of equipment, materials, and resources necessary to support military airfield operations and contingency missions.

Candidates must possess hands-on experience with Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS), including inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and deployment support of aircraft arresting systems used in military aviation environments.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrime BEEF & Airfield Systems Operations

  • Support the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of airfield systems and equipment.
  • Maintain operational readiness of airfield lighting systems, communications equipment, navigational aids, and associated infrastructure.
  • Inspect, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS) and related arresting gear equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on aircraft arresting systems to ensure mission readiness and compliance with Air Force standards.
  • Assist with the deployment, installation, recovery, and operational testing of expeditionary aircraft arresting systems during exercises and contingency operations.
  • Utilize Air Force Technical Orders (TOs), maintenance manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation to perform assigned tasks.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain maintenance records, logs, and equipment documentation.
  • Support emergency response operations, readiness exercises, and deployment activities as required.
  • Coordinate with military personnel, logistics teams, and maintenance staff to support operational requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and security procedures.

Logistics, Warehouse & Inventory Operations

  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, and track materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and MAAS-related components.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory reconciliation and physical inventory counts.
  • Organize materials within warehouses, storage facilities, bins, and shelving systems.
  • Track equipment accountability and maintain asset management records.
  • Prepare reports related to inventory adjustments, shortages, damaged equipment, and material accountability.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required (training provided if necessary).
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, preservation, and protection of government property and mission-critical assets.
  • Support logistics and material readiness requirements for deployments, exercises, and operational missions.

Administrative Support

  • Perform data entry and maintain electronic records using Microsoft Office and applicable inventory management systems.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, maintenance documentation, and operational records.
  • Assist visitors and provide professional customer service support.
  • Answer incoming calls and provide general administrative assistance.
  • Maintain filing systems, documentation, and records management processes.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, military personnel, leadership, and team members regarding inventory, maintenance, and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET Security Clearance required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in military airfield operations, aircraft arresting systems, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, electronics maintenance, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated experience with Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS) is required.
  • Knowledge of airfield operations, equipment maintenance procedures, and inventory accountability practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, Air Force Technical Orders, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical duties for extended periods., * Prior Prime BEEF, Civil Engineering Squadron, RED HORSE, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, or Airfield Operations experience.
  • Experience with Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS), BAK-12, BAK-14, or similar aircraft arresting equipment.
  • Military aviation support or expeditionary airfield operations experience.
  • Experience using inventory management systems or warehouse management software.
  • Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience.
  • Familiarity with government property accountability procedures.
  • Previous military service or Department of Defense contractor experience.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a combination of warehouse, office, flightline, and industrial environments. Duties may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions, around aircraft operations, heavy equipment, and mission-critical infrastructure. Moderate to high noise levels may be present. Occasional support of deployments, readiness exercises, emergency response operations, and contingency missions may be required.
