Job description

  • Troubleshoot and repair computer and network-related issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux systems
  • Assist with network deployments and support
  • Perform onsite service calls for residential and business customers
  • Pull and terminate network cabling when required
  • Document work performed and communicate findings clearly
  • Answer customer questions professionally and courteously
  • Prioritize and manage multiple service requests effectively
  • Follow company procedures and represent OnlyNerds professionally at all times

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Linux support?, OnlyNerds LLC is seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Field Technician with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position as workload and performance dictate.

This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in IT while gaining hands-on experience in computer repair, networking, business technology support, and field service operations.

We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, can work independently, and takes pride in solving problems for customers., * Working knowledge of Windows operating systems

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
  • Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and customer service abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UniFi networking equipment
  • Experience pulling and terminating network cabling
  • Previous MSP, IT support, or field service experience
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or Ubiquiti

Certifications are not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn., Because this position involves customer interaction and physical work around equipment, technicians are expected to maintain a neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene., We value work ethic, reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn as much as technical experience. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, communicates well with customers, and can take ownership of problems from diagnosis to resolution.

This position is designed as a trial and growth opportunity. Candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability, professionalism, and dependability will be considered first for full-time employment as the company continues to expand.

Benefits & conditions

  • Typical hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
