Job description

The BI & Analytics Strategist serves as Raceway Car Wash’s analytics champion - translating raw data into decisions that drive the business. This role owns the full lifecycle of analytics and reporting solutions and serves as the primary analytics interface for executives and department leaders across the organization., The BI & Analytics Strategist reports to the Data Engineer and is embedded within a collaborative data and IT team that includes a data engineer, data scientist, and broader IT colleagues. As Raceway evolves its BI approach - moving beyond traditional dashboarding toward backend data modeling, custom application integrations, and AI-powered analytics interfaces - this role will grow in scope and influence alongside that evolution., Analytics & Reporting Ownership

  • Own the full lifecycle of analytics and reporting solutions, from intake through development to delivery.
  • Translate business questions into clear data requirements and success metrics.
  • Build interactive, self-service dashboards and reports that effectively communicate KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Handle ad hoc analyses, refining and elevating requests into strategic deliverables.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with executives, department heads, and technical teams to design solutions that are accurate, intuitive, and aligned with business goals.
  • Serve as the primary analytics interface for business leaders across the organization.
  • Partner directly with the Data Engineer on automation, infrastructure, and production pipeline integration.

Data Quality, Governance & Documentation

  • Define and maintain consistent data quality, usage standards, and user experience across reporting platforms.
  • Manage dataset access, permissions, and governance to ensure data security and compliance as the company scales.
  • Maintain clear documentation including report guides, data definitions, and change logs.

Technical Execution

  • Write SQL to prepare data for reporting and collaborate with the Data Engineer to integrate queries into production pipelines.
  • Apply knowledge of enterprise data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and relational database design best practices.
  • Utilize version control systems such as GitHub to manage and document analytics work.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Office and hybrid work environment based in Phoenix, AZ.
  • Close collaboration with internal teams, executive leadership, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent reporting initiatives.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Schema design?, * Data visualization and storytelling

  • SQL proficiency and analytical execution
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Cross-functional communication and influence
  • Data governance and documentation
  • Intellectual curiosity and continuous improvement
  • Organization and self-direction
  • Problem-solving and numerical intuition, * 3-5 years of experience in analytics, data, or a related technical or quantitative role.
  • Strong grasp of data visualization principles and intuitive storytelling with data.
  • Proficiency in SQL required; knowledge of Python, R, or another analytical language a plus.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and relational database design best practices.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Highly organized and self-directed; capable of managing multiple reporting initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with probability, statistics, or expected value.
  • Ability and interest to quickly learn new tools and skills.
