Job description

Horizon Christian Academy (HCA) seeks a mission-driven Director of Information Technology to lead and manage all campus technology systems in support of academic excellence and Christian discipleship.

The IT Director will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on technical support in a growing PK-12 Christian school environment. This role ensures secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that enhance student learning, protect data integrity, and support faculty and staff operations.

  • Develop and implement a multi-year technology plan aligned with HCA’s mission and growth strategy
  • Partner with the Head of School and leadership team to align technology initiatives with enrollment growth and academic priorities
  • Prepare and manage the annual IT budget
  • Plan for future campus expansion and infrastructure scalability

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee campus-wide Wi-Fi, networking, firewalls, and internet services
  • Manage cloud platforms (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)
  • Maintain servers, backups, and disaster recovery systems
  • Ensure cybersecurity protocols and data privacy compliance (FERPA, COPPA)
  • Oversee campus security systems, cameras, and access control technology

Instructional Technology Support

  • Support teachers in effective classroom technology integration
  • Manage Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems
  • Oversee 1:1 device programs and device lifecycle planning
  • Provide professional development and training for faculty
  • Evaluate and implement new educational technology tools

Operational & Help Desk Support

  • Provide responsive technical support to faculty, staff, and students
  • Manage hardware procurement, deployment, and inventory
  • Coordinate third-party vendors and service providers
  • Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and policies, HCA is a growing Christ-centered school in Cumming, Georgia, committed to developing students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. The IT Director plays a vital role in ensuring the school’s technology infrastructure supports innovation, security, and long-term growth while advancing the mission of Christian education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience
  • Experience managing networks, firewalls, device ecosystems, and cloud platforms
  • Strong cybersecurity knowledge
  • Excellent communication and relational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in a Christian school or private school environment
  • Knowledge of FACTS SIS or similar student management systems
  • Microsoft or Google administration certifications
  • Network or security certifications
