Job description
The UAV industry is a fast-paced and constantly evolving market in which our client is a key player. The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and integrating unmanned aerial vehicles (āUAVā) with software solutions. This position requires a broad set of skills across engineering disciplines, knowledge of communication protocols and experience with power systems.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Ā· Strong understanding of system integration across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
Ā· Hands-on experience building, integrating, and testing multirotor or FPV drone systems
Ā· Experience working with cross-functional teams (EE, ME, and software) in a product development environment
Ā· Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware/software integration
Ā· Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and MAVLink
Ā· Understanding of power systems, grounding, EMI/EMC considerations, and system-level interactions
Ā· Experience integrating third-party hardware and software systems (sensors, radios, payloads, SDKs, APIs)
Ā· Ability to develop and execute system-level test plans (bench and flight testing)
Ā· Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and system interactions
Ā· Experience analyzing logs and telemetry for system performance and debugging
Ā· Ability to support development from prototype through validation and iteration
Ā· Familiarity with flight control stacks (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot, Betaflight, INAV)
Ā· Experience with system configuration, tuning, and integration within these ecosystems
Ā· Ability to interface systems with embedded software environments (Linux-based systems, RTOS, or companion computers)
Ā· Experience using tools such as Git for version control and working with technical documentation
The ideal candidate would also have experience with the following (ānice to haveā):
Ā· Experience with drones, robotics, or aerospace systems
Ā· Familiarity with mechanical integration constraints (mounting, vibration, thermal considerations)
Ā· Experience with RF systems (video transmission, antennas, telemetry)
Ā· Experience integrating companion computers or onboard compute (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi)
Ā· Basic scripting or programming (Python, C/C++)
Ā· Experience supporting prototype builds through production or field deployment
Personal Skills/Abilities:
Ā· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
Ā· Compelling work ethic and attitudinal awareness around āgetting the job done rightā
Ā· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in system integration
Ā· Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines
Ā· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ā· Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting
Ā· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
Ā· Bachelorās degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related field) or equivalent practical experience
Ā· 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, UAVs, robotics, or embedded systems
