Job description

Searching for a safety - first Engineering Associate who will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electric generation, transmission, and distribution systems. This role contributes to engineering activities related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of infrastructure including power plants, transmission lines, substations, distribution systems, gas systems, and control centers.

Responsibilities may include monitoring and balancing energy flow, responding to system disturbances, and supporting generation, transmission, and distribution operations that deliver electric and gas services., * Utilize established procedures and processes to complete assigned tasks under direct supervision

  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal work processes
  • Support information gathering for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in seminars and professional development opportunities
  • Contribute to project work and process improvement initiatives as assigned
  • Perform other duties as needed to support engineering operations

Requirements

Do you have a valid Engineer in Training certification?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Outlook?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering?, * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university

  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across multiple functional areas
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and prioritize workload effectively
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to support call duty and occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work as required
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for off-site work, training, or inspections
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), * Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Exposure to electric distribution or transmission systems
  • Technical writing experience or coursework
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) systems, including Bentley MicroStation
  • Familiarity with ESRI GIS and ArcFM Designer software
  • Experience with SAP and work management systems
