Solutions Architect - Infrastructure

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Solution Architect - Infrastructure position! This is a 6 month contract-to-hire and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered., * Serve as the solution architecture extension for enterprise infrastructure, translating conceptual and logical designs into detailed physical architecture guidance for hybrid environments spanning Azure cloud and co-location data centers

• Design and guide scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions that support dynamic workloads including AI and digital services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and hybrid cloud patterns
• Partner with engineering teams throughout the full SDLC-from design through production-providing architecture oversight, implementation guidance, and ensuring adherence to standards for scalability, resilience, security, and operability
• Drive the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including defining SLIs/SLOs, implementing observability patterns, infrastructure-as-code automation, and operational readiness frameworks
• Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand business capabilities and translate them into comprehensive infrastructure solution designs that meet financial targets
• Provide architecture guidance for hybrid infrastructure design including cloud/on-prem integration, connectivity strategies, workload placement, networking, platform integration, and cost optimization aligned with FinOps principles
• Participate actively in Agile team ceremonies, working collaboratively with stakeholders to design, build, test, and deploy technology solutions
• Evaluate and ensure compliance of delivered solutions against enterprise architecture standards, while contributing to the continuous improvement of those standards based on implementation insights

• 5+ years of relevant infrastructure architecture experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years combined experience in higher education and/or infrastructure work
• Proven expertise in hybrid infrastructure design, including Azure cloud platforms, on-premises environments, and integration patterns across distributed systems
• Strong background in software/service engineering with experience across multiple programming languages and modern development practices
• Demonstrated ability to architect for scalability, performance optimization, resilience, and reliability including high availability and disaster recovery patterns
• Experience implementing or guiding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, observability frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code automation
• Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, patterns, and the ability to evaluate multiple technical approaches and articulate tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work across various levels of the organization, from engineering teams to domain leadership, and present technical solutions clearly
• Experience working in Agile environments and participating in collaborative solution design and delivery
