Job description

The Sr. EDI Technical Analyst will support and improve EDI processes, trading partner files, data integrations, and related production systems. This senior-level role partners with business stakeholders, IT teams, infrastructure teams, and external trading partners to troubleshoot complex issues, improve monitoring, document technical requirements, and ensure accurate healthcare EDI file processing.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Support and Monitoring

  • Research, analyze, track, and resolve complex EDI production issues, including file processing, transaction errors, incidents, and data trends.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries for production support, data validation, testing, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with IT Infrastructure teams to support monitoring and alerting for APIs, data loads, trading partner transactions, and related production processes.
  • Support production cycles, internal tools, operational procedures, and on-call rotation as needed.

EDI and Technical Analysis

  • Analyze and map trading partner EDI and flat files across systems.
  • Work with healthcare EDI transactions, including 27X, 834, 835, and 837.
  • Apply EDI standards and healthcare transaction rules, including TR3, CORE/CAQH, and Blue Exchange rules.
  • Develop functional specifications, technical specifications, logic flows, mapping documents, and other technical documentation.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions using SQL, data integration concepts, and application knowledge.
  • Complete technical discovery, assess system capabilities, and recommend process or technology improvements.
  • Build, support, and maintain complex processes, data, dashboards, ad hoc reports, and reporting solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in assigned technical or reporting areas.

Quality Assurance and Project Support

  • Create and process test files, test data, and test cases.
  • Document test results, log defects, perform regression testing, and support root cause analysis.
  • Use API testing tools such as SOAP UI or Postman.
  • Participate in and/or lead complex technical projects, including work estimates, project schedules, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Provide peer review, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical writing within technology?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, data integration, reporting, technical analysis, or related information systems work.
  • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise-level systems as an EDI Analyst, Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on healthcare EDI experience, including transaction analysis, file processing, data mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Strong SQL experience and understanding of data mapping, data quality, data governance, and data analysis best practices.
  • Experience with business requirements, user acceptance testing, defect tracking, regression testing, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, prioritization, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a senior-level capacity while partnering with cross-functional teams and external trading partners.
  • Preferred experience with HIPAA, healthcare systems, Edifecs or similar EDI platforms, Splunk, App Insights, SOAP UI, Postman, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, ETL, SOA, OLAP, C#, VB.NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, or Microsoft enterprise applications.
