Job description

Asylon is hiring a full-time IT Systems Engineer to join our Norristown, PA team. In this role you will drive our AI enablement efforts, bringing AI into everyday work across the company: standing up environments for AI agents, building and maintaining the harnesses and tooling they depend on, and helping colleagues turn their prototypes into reliable, hosted internal applications. Underpinning this work, you will design, deploy, and maintain the systems that run our business, with an emphasis on services running on Linux and cloud-based platforms such as GitLab and 3DEXPERIENCE. You will work closely with teams across Asylon to understand their needs and keep them productive. The ideal candidate is a versatile builder who is as comfortable architecting AI and cloud infrastructure as they are administering Linux services, and who is excited to grow their skills as the role and the IT department expand.

Primary Duties

  • Drive the company’s AI enablement efforts: stand up infrastructure for AI agents, maintain agent harnesses and tooling, and help teams turn their prototypes into reliable, hosted internal applications.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain services running on Linux and cloud-based platforms, keeping them secure, scalable, and available.
  • Help keep our IT asset inventory accurate and up to date.
  • Work with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve network and application availability and performance problems.
  • Configure, deploy, and support software baseline configurations.
  • Capture and test backups to ensure systems and data can be reliably recovered.
  • Develop and document operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, IT operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong Linux skills, including deploying, configuring, and maintaining services on Linux servers.
  • Experience building and operating cloud-based and self-hosted services and platforms.
  • Scripting or programming experience to automate tasks and build internal tooling (e.g. Python, Bash).
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Interest in AI and a track record of quickly learning and adopting new technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple IT projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels and departments, including non-technical colleagues.

Bonus Points

  • Experience standing up and maintaining infrastructure for AI agents or other AI tooling.
  • Experience helping non-developers turn prototypes or low-code projects into hosted, maintainable internal applications.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience administering GitLab, 3DEXPERIENCE, or similar engineering and collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compliance frameworks, such as NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST CSF.
