DevOps Senior QA Automation Engineer (Architect Level)

DevOps also seeks the support of a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to accelerate adoption of automated API testing and quality assurance practices, directly supporting recommendations to formalize testing automation and integrate QA into CI/CD pipelines. By aligning QA efforts with the definition and monitoring of KPIs, the contractor will help ensure measurable improvements in code quality, test coverage, and defect detection. This role will enable [Client Organization] to deliver more reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions, while providing actionable metrics that drive continuous improvement and support strategic modernization objectives.

Competencies :

• Strategic Planning

o Work with Information Services Division (ISD) peers to perform vendor selection and execute proof of value (POV) experiments to solidify procurement plans.

o Develop requirements, roadmaps, implementation plans, security plans, and system documentation.

• Construction and Operation

o Work with ISD peers to install and configure selected tooling.

o Confirm compliance with agency IT and Information Security policies and standards.

o Support development of test automation standards for long term reliability and maintainability.

o Implement and Assist development of test suites to prove functionality and correctness of tools and enhance the Quality Assurance (QA) team’s test automation portfolio.

• Leadership

o Communication of plans and progress with ISD managers, teams, or Project Management.

o Perform cross-training and provide expertise for strategic planning, provide appropriate documentation for future reference.

Do you have experience in SQL?, Minimum six (6) years of information systems experience in one or more of the following areas: Software Engineering or Software Quality Assurance.

Must have a proven track record in designing and implementing automated test suites, strong proficiency in Java and/or Python, solid SQL skills, and an understanding of financial or retirement systems., * Experience developing automated test suites, including SOAP and REST API testing, load testing, and regression testing and performance testing.

• Experience with OpenAPI or equivalent technologies, including contract testing.
• Experience automating execution of QA test suites within CI/CD pipelines (SmartBear, Jenkins, SVN/Git).
• Knowledge of Java (JavaEE, Spring), .NET, and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP) toolsets or application integration patterns.
• Knowledge of integrating observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, SolarWinds, or Splunk, and understanding quality-of-service concepts such as SLIs.
• Knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and TOGAF (all considered a plus)., * How many years of hands-on experience do you have developing automated test suites and QA automation frameworks?
