Job description

We’re entering our next phase of growth and investing heavily in the reliability and scalability of our platform. We’re looking for a QA Test Engineer with a true “can-do” mentality who cares about delivering flawless software, pragmatism, and raising the bar for quality across the board. Your Impact: What You’ll Do As a QA Test Engineer at Qover, you’ll take ownership of our quality standards end-to-end - from analyzing requirements to building, executing, and reporting on automated test plans. Here is a taste of what you will be working on:

  • Use AI thoughtfully - in testing, automation, and beyond. You treat AI as a powerful co-pilot to enhance your productivity, not as a substitute for true quality assurance.
  • Analyze and evaluate: You’ll dive deep into product requirements and specifications to ensure they are testable, functional, and user-centric.
  • Build comprehensive test plans: You will design adequate, robust test plans based on strict risk assessments and time constraints to guarantee platform stability.
  • Validate acceptance criteria end-to-end: You ensure acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and fully validated through exploratory testing, automation, and regression coverage. You challenge ambiguity early and ensure shared understanding between Product and Engineering.
  • Drive automation: You’ll create and execute automated tests using third-party tools (like Vitest and Playwright) and internal test frameworks to speed up our release cycles and ensure consistency.
  • Track and resolve defects: You’ll review and report product defects, usability issues, automated test results, and quality risks in a clear, structured way. You will also follow up on the product defects workflow and verify the solutions.
  • Collaborate and communicate: You will plan, track, and report your daily work and assigned tasks, keeping your direct team manager and the broader engineering team fully aligned.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience in quality assurance or application testing (typically a minimum of 3 years).
  • Solid educational foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical proficiency in databases and scripting. You have hands-on experience scripting with TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of modern software testing and automation tools, specifically with Vitest and Playwright.
  • Strong Git skills and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills to articulate risks and collaborate seamlessly across functions.

The Vibe: Who You Are

  • The Result-Oriented “NINJA”: You have a relentless “can-do” mentality. You take ownership, solve problems, and make things happen.
  • The Adaptable Explorer: You are flexible and able to quickly adapt to changes in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
  • The Autonomous Team Player: You thrive when working collaboratively with developers and product managers, but you are completely capable of driving your own work autonomously.
  • The Communicator: You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, flag quality risks early, and ask good questions to uncover edge cases.
  • The Collaborative Partner: You are passionate about technology, constructive, and most importantly, looking to have fun with a great team!

Benefits & conditions

  • A flexible work environment: up to three days remote per week and the ability to work from anywhere one month per year
  • 28 days off (8 extra days on top of the 20 legal days)
  • A nice working space in a great location in Brussels: Qover-dedicated space at WeWork (Rue du Commerce 31) with a large terrace to enjoy team events
  • A positive company culture that values teamwork and taking initiative but also having fun, with regular social events
  • A collaborative and communal environment where everyone is welcomed, valued and accepted regardless of their nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, philosophical or political views, etc.
  • The chance to work among entrepreneurial people, giving you the opportunity to learn and have a real impact at one of Europe’s fastest-growing insurtechs
