Job description

Provide advanced hardware support, installation, and configuration for all security systems related equipment utilized by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal Government Operations and Business Enterprises., * Provide technical support to end users for Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, and Secure Keybox systems.

  • Provide technical support to Casino Security and Tribal Police for Alarm Monitoring and employee ID Badging systems.
  • Create and remove employee records in Ccure for all new SECR, MIGIZI and Tribal Operations employees.
  • Print new and replacement ID badges for all new SECR, MIGIZI and Tribal Operations employees.
  • Responsible for the installation, repair and preventive maintenance on Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, and Secure Keybox systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain CCTV installations for select Tribal Ops departments and MIGIZI sites
  • Assist in the support of network hardware including switches, routers, racks, patch panels, infrastructure cabling (fiber and Cat 5e+), and wireless Ethernet equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on all Security system related computers, laptops, printers and associated peripherals.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of all applicable security related hardware and software.
  • Proactively search for and resolve potential risks, weaknesses and possible problem areas across the tribal Network and Access Control systems.
  • Work with Support Services personnel as part of the documentation and escalation process for issue resolution.
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware and software function.
  • Train and support network/systems technicians in all aspects of the systems technicians` position.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical and general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to employee confidentiality and comply with department policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Word processing?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Our paid time off accruals for annual and sick leave are as followed: 0-3 years of service = 2 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked; 3-9 years of service = 3 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked; 10 years or more of service = 4 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked. Plus you get 16 hours of personal time per calendar year (prorated based on your start date, resets every Jan.1). We also have Bereavement, Longevity, Fitness, and maternity/paternity leave., * Bachelor`s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Three years systems or network support experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet and 10 Gb/s Ethernet LAN/WAN/WLAN.
  • Must be able to work various shifts.
  • Must pass IT related competency exam.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • HIPAA certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Drivers License and must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Drivers License and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier., * Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of system and network concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge and a basic understanding of computer and server hardware, and network connectivity.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
  • Skill in reviewing, and analyzing operational and technical reports and manuals.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment and cabling projects.
  • Required to walk for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to stand and sit and reach with arms and hands.
  • Required to climb ladders, accessing high and low areas, to include communications towers, water towers, roof structures, lighting poles and above ceilings.
  • Required to squeeze hands and body into confined spaces.
  • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
