Job description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer with knowledge of platform engineering, DevOps practises and the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with modern tools and environments in public and private cloud in the delivery of our feature and roadmap items.
You will join our skilled team of Platform and DevOps engineers who have a passion for developer experience, high quality solutions and enablement through self service. Our team plays a meaningful part in enabling the Central Engineering Software Group to develop and improve the software eco-system around Armās next generation of applications processors.
We seek proactive individuals with experience and understanding of automation tooling, containerisation, CI pipelines, cloud platforms and system administration to provide automated build, test and development solutions and support internal and external software engineering communities!, As a Platform and DevOps engineer in the Engineering Infrastructure team you will handle a diverse and multifaceted set of responsibilities. You will design, implement, operate and support one or more of our developer platforms. You will to be involved in:
- Provision of software build and test solutions catering to different market segments such as Mobile, Server, IoT and Automotive
- Lifecycle management of core project infrastructure, from design through to deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization
- Continuous improvement of workflow quality, security, and efficiency
- Customer support, providing timely analysis and resolution of issues, requirements analysis and task breakdown
- Communication & collaboration with engineering IT, software development teams and the open source community, * You will work with innovative DevOps technologies, learning from highly-skilled engineers across the company
- We operate a hybrid working policy, which gives you the option to split your time between working from home and working from our office

Requirements
A successful candidate will be flexible, with a variety of software development skills and have a dedication to extend the breadth and depth of their knowledge of already existing DevOps abilities.
- Prior experience in a DevOps/Infrastructure engineering position, preferably involving use of cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP
- Experience of delivering solutions using virtualization and containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Rancher, and Harvester
- Experience in Unix (Linux) Systems Administration
- Knowledge of automation and āInfrastructure as Codeā tooling such as Terraform & Ansible
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery systems such as Jenkins or Gitlab
- A good level of proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python or Shell scripting
āNice To Haveā Skills and Experience :
- Experience in GitOps technologies such as ArgoCD, Flux or Fleet
- Implementation of the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) in infrastructure
- Monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana, ELK stack or equivalent
- Use of Kubernetes management systems such as Rancher
- Familiarity with open source project development cycles and contribution processes, particularly around CI/CD infrastructure, * You will have stimulating conversations with software developers, who keep opening up the boundaries on what can be done with our engineering platform!
