Job description

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Developer IV - EDI on Unix/Linux for a remote opportunity for candidates in the EST. Candidate will support enterprise healthcare EDI applications and distributed systems within a complex production environment. This role focuses on application development, systems troubleshooting, translator modernization initiatives, and ongoing operational support for mission-critical data exchange platforms., * Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise application solutions and EDI processing systems.

  • Analyze and resolve complex production issues impacting customer file submissions and reporting processes.
  • Support implementation and enhancement efforts for enterprise translator and integration platforms.
  • Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable and reliable system solutions.
  • Create and execute testing strategies, technical documentation, and system validation activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support teams.

Requirements

  • Must meet federal residency requirements, including living in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience combinations will be considered.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in software development, systems testing, application support, or related IT roles.
  • Strong experience working in UNIX/Linux environments with command-line and shell scripting expertise.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ or Python development.
  • Experience with SQL development and database integration technologies.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex, multi-tier distributed applications.
  • Ability to support fast-paced, high-availability production environments with shifting priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Developer IV - EDI on Unix/Linux:

  • Experience supporting EDI platforms utilizing X12/5010 standards.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology or regulated enterprise environments.
  • Secondary programming experience in Python or C/C++.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of APIs, authentication protocols, LDAP, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience participating in full software development lifecycle activities.
