Job description
Weâre looking for an Information Security Counsel/Contracts Manager who can move between the technical world of cybersecurity and the nuances of legal compliance.
As a vital part of our fast-paced Commercial Legal Team, youâll be a key collaborator in the deal cycle. Your mission? Translate our technical security posture into signed agreements and ensure customer requirements are scalable and well-vetted. If you live for the intersection of complex legal frameworks, cybersecurity, and AI, this is your next move.
This role is open to licensed attorneys and experienced contracts managers alike - we care more about what you know than what youâre called.
The Mission
-
Negotiate & Close: Draft and negotiate complex technology agreements with major enterprise customers, serving as the lead voice on security terms.
-
Bridge the Gap: Partner cross-functionally with Sales, InfoSec, Product Engineering, and Product Legal to align commercial goals with technical realities.
-
Advise & Protect: Provide frontline legal guidance on security and contractual risk for standard matters, partnering with senior counsel on complex regulatory questions and novel issues.
-
Know the Product: Develop a deep understanding of Rubrikâs platform to effectively represent our security posture in customer negotiations and internal product discussions.
Requirements
You are a self-driven professional who balances sharp business judgment with deep technical literacy. You donât just spot risks-you provide solutions.
-
Education: Bachelorâs degree required. J.D. or equivalent legal training preferred; what matters is demonstrated fluency in contract language and the ability to negotiate complex agreements.
-
Experience: 4-7 years of in-house experience in contract management or as legal counsel, or equivalent law firm experience in technology transactions, specifically with negotiating the technical aspects of enterprise software and cloud licensing agreements. Exposure to European regulatory frameworks (DORA, EU AI Act, EBA guidelines) is a plus as our international footprint grows.
-
Security Fluent: You are proficient in data security issues faced by technology companies and industry compliance standards (NIST, ISO, etc.).
-
Technical Curiosity: You thrive on the âhow it worksâ side of technology and legal agreements.
-
Deal Maker: Proven ability to handle live, customer-facing negotiations with a solution-oriented, professional demeanor.
-
Strategic Operator: A self-starter with business judgment to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and the drive to stay ahead of deadlines.
-
Unwavering Integrity: You balance a âdrive to winâ with a deep commitment to professional excellence.
-
Collaborative: At ease interacting with a range of global stakeholders, from Sales Ops to Product Engineering.
Benefits & conditions
-
High Impact: You arenât just reviewing redlines; youâre architecting the security trust that helps win deals.
-
Innovation-First: Stay at the forefront of the industry by navigating the legal landscape of AI and cyber defense.
-
Autonomy & Speed: We move fast. Youâll have the space to manage your own priorities and the support to think strategically in a high-energy environment.
Ready to make a tangible impact on a global scale? Letâs talk.
