Lead Cloud Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to play a key role in shaping and delivering our Azure cloud platform within a regulated financial services environment. This is a hands on role combining technical delivery platform design and mentoring. You will lead from the front building and improving cloud services while influencing engineering standards and best practice across the business. You will work closely with engineering architecture DevOps security and compliance teams to ensure solutions are secure scalable resilient and aligned to regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing

Cloud Engineering and Delivery

• Lead the design build and continuous improvement of Azure cloud platform services
• Deliver hands on engineering across platform services networking identity monitoring and security
• Define and implement reusable cloud patterns and standards
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues

Architecture and Technical Direction

• Contribute to cloud architecture and design decisions
• Ensure solutions are secure scalable and resilient
• Translate architecture into practical supportable engineering delivery
• Support production of technical design documentation

Infrastructure as Code and Automation

• Lead development of Terraform based infrastructure as code
• Build reusable modules and deployment standards
• Drive automation to improve consistency efficiency and auditability
• Support engineers in adopting infrastructure as code best practices

DevOps and Delivery Enablement

• Build and enhance Azure DevOps pipelines
• Improve automation testing and release processes
• Drive best practice in continuous delivery and deployment
• Support teams to deliver safely and consistently

Security Governance and Compliance

• Ensure cloud platforms are secure by design and audit ready
• Implement governance controls across identity access and monitoring
• Work closely with security risk and compliance teams
• Embed best practice across regulated environments

Networking and Integration

• Lead Azure networking design including virtual networks firewalls private endpoints and connectivity
• Support integration across internal third party and cloud services
• Ensure secure scalable and supportable solutions
