Head of Solutions Architecture

You’ll be joining our Digital directorate, leading a team of Solution Architects embedded within delivery squads across our customer journeys. This role is central to shaping the future of our technology landscape, overseeing up to £400m of IT investment and driving the transformation of legacy systems into modern, scalable architecture. What you’ll do:

Lead and inspire a team of Solution Architects, providing strategic and technical direction across multiple domains. Drive innovation and pragmatic decision-making to deliver step-change in architecture and technology. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable solutions, influencing and collaborating with senior leaders across the organisation. Lead all aspects of the definition and delivery of architecture roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical needs. Build strong relationships across the organisation, including Product teams, Engineering, Cyber Security, and external partners.

A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to innovate and deliver practical solutions that drive transformation. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a talent for translating technical concepts to a range of audiences. A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, balancing strategic vision with delivery realities.

Your experience:

Demonstrable background leading solution architecture in a large-scale organisation is essential. AWS Certified, with practical experience applying cloud architecture principles in complex organisations. Experience transforming legacy systems and delivering modern architecture in a matrixed environment. Strong background in application development, integration, infrastructure, and cloud technologies. Experience collaborating with leaders at a senior level, up to C-suite is essential. Aviation knowledge would be advantageous.
