Job description

  • Install and service low voltage cabling systems including Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
  • Terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling infrastructure systems.
  • Perform upgrades and additions to enhance system functionality and usability.
  • Execute physical installations and removals of structured cabling components, cabinets, racks, and pathway systems (e.g., cable trays).
  • Coordinate with team members within NACS Operations to complete projects efficiently.
  • Provide updates to operations management regarding work order status, procedures, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Complete documentation in written and electronic formats (time reporting, work order progress, materials tracking, client SLAs).
  • Request and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cabling infrastructure systems.
  • Proven ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables (twisted pair, coax, tray cable, stranded/solid conductor, single-mode, multi-mode fiber).
  • Strong understanding of industry standards (BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, NEC).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to safely operate company vehicles.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Industry/manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., BICSI, Panduit, Commscope, Siemens, Corning, Leviton, Ortronics, AV, Fiber Optic, Paging).
  • Healthcare-specific certifications (e.g., infectious control, safety, bloodborne pathogens).
  • Experience with telecom, data, security, and wireless cabling infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local safety standards.
